Here we have a poem in the Manxu form, which is an ode to cats with a 2, 2, 1, 6, 1, 4, ! syllable count (ending with “!”).
2 – ears
2 – eyes
1 – nose
6 – whiskers
1 – mouth
4 – legs
! – no tail
Oh cat!
You spit
at
those who dare to mock you
for
having no tail
!
Do you think it’ll catch on?

Witty! Funny! Clever! Very entertaining! Reminded me of Eduard Gory. Xx
Thank you, feathered one 🙂 The resemblance is purely coincidental
Love that! Funny lady! The best kind!
Thank you 🙂
My cat
Millie
Is
A silly little thing
Well
She’s kind of fat
!
Wonderful! I used to have a degu named Millie. Thanks for stopping by and joining in the fun 🙂
🙂
I’ve got something that works for me. No more than 36 Syllables per verse.. seems enuff for me to tell the story, hopefully in 4 verses.
36 syllables? Far too many! 🙂
I think it has an excellent chance of catching in the of skilled poets such as yourself.
Thank you very much, Scott – you’re too kind 🙂
You at the cats knees and the bees whiskers! G:)
Then I must be very, very tiny! 🙂
And the dog’s doodads! Xxxx
Do they, indeed? Poor dads! 😉 xx
Yup! G:)
You´re quite the creative genius Jane
Awww… Thank you, Charly. I wouldn’t quite go that far, but I give it my best shot 🙂
Keep shooting then
I think it just might
Thank you, Derrick. Will we be seeing an offering from your good self? 🙂
No milk
for you
if
you keep scratching my leg
and
purring like that
Thank you, that’s Wonderful – almost perfect (“!”) 🙂
and I laid it out so well – look what WP has done with it 🙂
Stole your exclamation mark!
Not them – me – I forgot it
You could have got away with that! 🙂
